Job Description
This job is located at the top of the company’s hierarchy, the General Manager is tasked with
supervising and controlling all strategic and operational activities to ensure the achievement of
the company’s mission and vision. This pivotal role covers a wide range of administrative and
strategic responsibilities, including formulating strategic objectives, overseeing the
implementation of policies and procedures, and ensuring competitive advantages that affirm the
company’s industry leadership. The General Manager is also responsible for both internal and
external communications and coordination across all relevant parties, tailoring actions to the
industry’s specific needs.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
ADMINISTRATIVE AND ORGANIZATIONAL TASKS:
1. Supervising the continuous scanning of the company’s internal and external environment and
then defining opportunities, threats, strengths and weaknesses and preparing the strategies
necessary for the success and growth of the company.
2. Defining objectives and preparing the strategic and operational plans necessary to achieve the
company’s operational and commercial goals in accordance with the company’s strategy.
3. Oversee the setting and development the company’s internal systems necessary to maintain
and control the company’s workflow.
4. Supervising setting and developing capital and operational budgets for all resources necessary
to achieve the company objectives according to the company regulations.
5. Coordinating operational activities between the company’s various departments according to
the technical rules and principles
6. Participate in setting KPIs and standards and design reporting forms and contents for assessing
organization performance across departments.
7. Ensure the development and implementation of the quality assurance standards to maximize
resources utilization and operational efficiency.
TECHNICAL AND OPERATIONAL TASKS:
1. Supervising the provision of ship agency services and crew services to the company’s customer,
ensuring all services meet company standards and customer expectations in quality, cost, and timing.
2. Supervising the provision of catering and supplying ships’ needs the company’s customer,
ensuring all services meet company standards and customer expectations in quality, cost, and timing..
3. Supervising the customs clearance operations to ensure smooth and swift service delivery
according to company standards and customer expectations in quality, cost, and timing.
4. Supervising the provision of projects and freight forwarding services, ensuring they meet client
expectations in terms of timeliness, pricing, and quality.
MARKETING AND COMMUNICATION ACTIVITIES:
1. Supervising marketing research to understand customer trends and needs and develop
targeted marketing plans to promote services to potential clients.
2. Develop communication strategies to enhance customer satisfaction and maintain
relationships, reinforcing the company’s reputation as a dependable service provider.
3. Representing the relevant regional authorities, conferences, and gatherings, enhancing the
company’s operational capabilities and future success.
4. Develop promotional plans through business events to enhance the company’s public
image and attract new customers and partnerships.
5. Formulating communication strategies to foster cooperation between the branch,
suppliers, and service providers, enhancing service delivery and solidifying relationships.
6. Developing across-company communication channels to maintain cooperation to achieve
collective strategic objectives of the company and ensure unified company.
7. . Analyzing data to identify the nature of competition and proposing policies that support
the company’s competitive position and image.
PERFORMANCE MONITORING AND EVALUATION ACTIVITIES:
1. Collaborate with key managers to define and follow up on performance standards (KPIs) for
company, departmental, and individuals’ levels on a regular and periodic basis.
2. Addressing scientific and operational challenges revealed by periodic evaluations in
partnership with key managers and employees.
3. Follow up on problems related to company relations with external parties, and ensuring
effective solutions with specialists.
4. Formulating performance evaluation reports for the various departments in the company in
based on the interim goals and achievement indicators.
5. Addressing deviations in the operational, marketing, and administrative activities, ensuring
alignment with planned strategies and goals.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
1. University degree in Business administration, Logistics, Management, or a related field,
(Postgraduate Degree is preferred).
2. Proven experience in executive leadership roles, with a track record of success in managing
complex organizations.
