The CNC Bending Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and
troubleshooting the Yawei CNC Bending Machine to produce high-quality bent sheet metal parts (2-6 mm thickness) according to engineering specifications. This role requires a strong understanding of machine operation, bending techniques, and precision measurements, as well as the ability to adjust settings for different materials and part sizes.
The operator will be responsible for the productivity and accuracy of the machine, ensuring that all parts are bent to the correct angles and dimensions. The position also involves performing routine maintenance on the machine to keep it in optimal working condition.
Required Skills:
1. Proficiency in operating Yawei CNC Bending Machines (or similar CNC bending equipment) for sheet metal bending (2-6 mm thickness). 2. Strong understanding of manual and CNC bending techniques for different materials and thicknesses.
3. Expertise in setting up the machine, including tooling, dies, punches, and back gauges, for different bending jobs.
4. Ability to program the CNC machine for bending sequences, angles, and part dimensions using Yawei’s specific controls (or equivalent). 5. Adjusting program settings to accommodate different materials, part sizes, and bending angles.
6. Strong knowledge of bend angles, radii, and allowances for various sheet metal materials and thicknesses (2-6 mm).
7. Ability to perform manual adjustments for precision and correct errors during production.
8. Skilled in measuring and inspecting bent parts using tools such as calipers and micrometers to ensure part tolerance and quality.
9. Knowledge of springback compensation to ensure accurate bends.
10. Ability to diagnose machine issues and perform minor repairs and troubleshooting.
11. Routine machine maintenance skills, including lubrication, filter cleaning, and tool inspection to ensure smooth operation.
12. Experience in installing and adjusting dies, punches, and clamps for different bending jobs.
13. Ability to ensure correct alignment and positioning of tooling for optimal bend quality.
14. Experience with CNC programming specific to bending, and the ability to adjust settings for material type, thickness, and bend radius. 15. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and CAD designs.
16. Skilled in lifting and moving sheet metal and using proper material handling techniques.
Required Experience:
1. Minimum 5-8 years of experience operating Yawei CNC Bending Machines (or similar CNC
bending equipment).
2. Experience in CNC programming for sheet metal bending, including adjusting settings for
different material types and thicknesses.
3. Experience in installing and adjusting various dies, punches, and back gauges to optimize
machine performance.
4. Experience with routine machine maintenance to ensure the longevity and precision of the
machine.
5. Strong background in sheet metal bending and knowledge of spring back compensation for
accurate bends.
6. Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot common machine issues, such as misaligned tooling or
incorrect bending angles.
7. Experience with visual inspection and using measuring tools to ensure parts meet specified
tolerances.
